WE ARE RECRUITING BY 16 NOVEMBER 2026 AT 15:00 FOR A PERMANENT PUBLIC-SERVICE POSITION
Chief Physician
Adolescent Psychiatry Clinic
Job description
We are looking for a specialist in adolescent psychiatry to join the experienced professionals at our adolescent psychiatry outpatient clinic. The Chief Physician is responsible for the unit’s operations and development together with the Chief Physician.
The adolescent psychiatry outpatient clinic and ward are located in the hospital area in the psychiatry building as part of other specialist medical care. Our facilities were completed in 2012. We assess, diagnose and treat conditions requiring specialist-level adolescent psychiatric care. We work especially with the primary-level mental health services for children and young people established in 2025, and with other specialties treating children and adolescents. The adolescent psychiatry ward is a nine-bed closed ward, to which a patient can be referred from the outpatient clinic when necessary.
We offer you:
- An experienced, thriving multidisciplinary team that works together
- Support from your supervisor and the opportunity to reflect on cases together
- The possibility of part-time and partial remote work
- Opportunities to contribute to development work
- Competitive pay
- Opportunities for training and to deepen your skills in ways needed for the work
- Group work supervision and, when needed, supervision for individual cases
About the team
In specialist adolescent psychiatry, the outpatient clinic has a Chief Physician and a physician in specialist training, while the ward has a specialist physician. Psychologists, nurses, occupational therapists and social workers also work in the clinic. The outpatient clinic has an intensive outpatient-care team and an appointments team. We care for patients using a network-based approach. To succeed in this role, you will need to manage the overall picture, show initiative and independence, have good interpersonal skills, and be interested in working in and developing diverse collaboration networks. In specialist adolescent psychiatry, we have developed satellite work with primary health care so that specialist expertise is brought closer to primary care and made available for consultation. Two outpatient nurses work in municipalities across the region, and an occupational therapist works partly in the field.
Eligibility
The eligibility requirement is authorisation or a licence to practise as a physician under the Act on Health Care Professionals (559/1994), together with specialist qualification in adolescent psychiatry. The position requires experience working as a specialist in adolescent psychiatry.
We value administrative skills and experience in different forms of therapy. You will join an experienced and effective team where everyone’s individual strengths are appreciated. Come and help us make the team and clinic even better.
You must also have the vaccination protection required under section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act.
Salary and benefits
The position-specific salary for the Chief Physician role is €7,752.98 per month. Additional supplements may be available based on the applicant’s work experience and applicable additional qualifications, such as specialist qualifications and special competencies. We follow the Medical Doctors’ Agreement.
Siun sote offers employee benefits that support everyday life, leisure time and wellbeing at work. The possibility of temporary accommodation also helps make starting work easier.
Further information
Please get in touch if you are interested in working with us. The preferred start date is from 1 January 2027, or later by agreement. The details of the role can be negotiated further to suit your expertise.
