Broadcom/VMware Architect

We are looking for an experienced Broadcom / VMware Architect to strengthen Atea's datacenter and hybrid cloud expert team. Our customers' infrastructure strategies, licensing models and architecture solutions are in transition. We are seeking an architect who can act as a technical guide, help customers make sustainable decisions, and ensure that virtualisation and cloud environments are high-performing, secure and cost-effective. In this role, you will serve as both a technical authority and a strategic advisor. Your tasks - Design the overall architecture of VMware- and Broadcom-based environments - Plan and implement VCF 9 environments together with our other consultants - Lead and develop vSphere, vSAN and NSX environments technically - Design hybrid cloud solutions, for example VMware Cloud solutions - Support licensing and capacity planning from a technical perspective - Design High Availability, disaster recovery and Business Continuity solutions - Carry out performance and capacity analysis - Define security and segmentation architecture - Provide technical guidance to sales and project teams - Prepare customer presentations, architecture documentation and roadmaps What we expect from you We are looking for an architect with deep, practical expertise in the following: Virtualisation and infrastructure - VCF 9 solution design and implementation - VMware vSphere architecture (ESXi, vCenter, clustering) - vSAN architecture and storage optimisation - NSX, especially micro-segmentation and network architecture - DRS, HA and FT solution design - Lifecycle Manager, and upgrade and maintenance models - Performance and resource optimisation in large environments Hybrid cloud and integrations - VMware Cloud solutions, particularly VCF 9 - Integrations with hyperscalers (Azure, AWS, GCP) - Hybrid model design and workload placement strategies - A unified management model for cloud and on-premises environments Security and continuity - Zero Trust architecture principles in virtualisation environments - Network segmentation and east-west traffic management - Backup and disaster recovery architectures (RPO/RTO planning) - Hardening and compliance requirements, for example in public administration Understanding of Broadcom environments - The impact of new licensing models on architecture - Subscription- and capacity-based models - Environment consolidation strategies - TCO and cost-structure optimisation We also value - VMware certifications (VCP, VCAP, VCDX) - Experience architecting large enterprise environments - Experience designing and implementing VCF 9 environments - Experience in public administration, critical infrastructure or defence environments - Understanding of alternative virtualisation technologies and market developments - Ability to discuss architecture at business leadership level Personal qualities - Ability to see the big picture and make well-founded technical decisions - A consultative approach and convincing presentation skills - Willingness to take a technical lead role in projects - Excellent Finnish and English skills What we offer - An influential architecture role at a time of market change - The opportunity to act as a technical guide for customers - Diverse enterprise environments and demanding customer engagements - Flexible working arrangements - Investment in developing your expertise and certifications If you want to help define the future of Finnish hybrid infrastructure in the Broadcom era, this role is for you.
