Seinäjoki Regional Congregation has an opening for a Cantor at the top level of qualification, level A. The placement is in Seinäjoki region; duties may cover the whole parish area. Seinäjoki is well-connected by transport. There are eight Cantor positions in the parish, four of which are in Seinäjoki Regional Parish. The role requires a versatile church music professional with strong solo abilities, especially on organ. Responsibilities include services, ecclesiastical ceremonies, choir direction, concerts, teaching in confirmation classes, and instrument maintenance. The candidate should be proactive, imaginative, cooperative and socially adept, with strong basics in cantorial duties, broad liturgical music knowledge and IT skills. Employment may involve travel with own car. The post requires a Cantor qualification approved by the bishops’ conference, level A. Applicant must be a confirmed member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. Excellent Finnish oral/written skills and satisfactory Swedish comprehension are required. A medical certificate and a police certificate as required for working with children/young people must be presented. The post belongs to difficulty grade 602 with a salary of 3,912 €/month, plus possible experience allowance up to 513.50 €/month. The appointment begins 4 January 2027 or by agreement.
