We are looking for you to join the early childhood education professionals in Vihti to implement high‑quality early education in a learning community. Vihti municipality has an open fixed‑term position for an early years teacher for the period 28.9.2026–23.12.2026. The position is 50% of normal working time and the workdays are Monday to Wednesday. The first placement is Hiidenranta day care centre. In our day care centres we have dedicated, enthusiastic and motivated staff. Our early childhood education emphasises collaborative work and positive pedagogy. Core values are respectful interaction with children and warm interaction. Your work is supported by a special education teacher, an preschool counsellor, and a network of multi‑disciplinary collaborators. Hiidenranta day care centre is a six‑group day care centre located near Hiidenvesi in a peaceful environment. We use the surrounding environment and nature sites as part of our learning. Our operating principles emphasize communal and inclusive everyday life for families, children and staff. Our staff commitment builds a solid basis for constructive cooperation with families. We mainly operate in small groups to tailor to individual needs. We value play and its significance for children’s wellbeing and learning. Through play, children experience joy and pleasure. Our pedagogical work aims for a learning and well‑being focused child. At Hiidenranta day care centre we offer a safe community for children to grow and develop. Qualification for the job is determined by the Municipal Act on Early Childhood Education (540/2018). The selected candidate must present a criminal background check as required by law for those working with children (504/2002). We value pedagogical expertise, perspective and interest in continuously developing early childhood education and preschool pedagogy. As an early years teacher you will be responsible for your own team’s pedagogy and team leadership, participate in the day‑to‑day work and development of the unit alongside the principal. We expect collaboration skills and commitment to community. We particularly value your sensitivity in children’s interaction and in encounters with diversity.
