We are seeking an enthusiastic and development‑minded day care centre director to lead the Lintukoto and Tammentuva day care centres in the Ilmarinen-Liedon area. As day care centre director you will be responsible for the pedagogical leadership of your units as well as personnel and financial administration. In this role you will drive activities with clear goals and ensure that every child has the opportunity for a safe, inclusive and wellbeing‑supportive everyday life. Lintukodon day care centre runs five early childhood groups and two pre‑school groups in Ilmarinen school facilities. Tammentuvan day care centre has three groups and pre‑school activities are arranged at Pahkamäki school. You are not alone in the role; your colleague is the deputy director, and you will be supported by the day care centre management team consisting of the director, deputy, and the head teacher of early childhood education. The director–deputy pair has continued as a pilot until 31 July 2027. Why Liedon? Previous experience as a day care centre director is an advantage. The City of Liedon employees have Mehiläinen occupational health care, epassi benefit (150€) and free gym use. The position is temporary from 28 Sep 2026 to 31 Jul 2027. Salary is defined by OVTES. The position’s base pay is 3867.64 € plus possible supplements. We adhere to a five‑month probation period. The primary placement is at Lintukoto and Tammentuva day care centres. Requirements include: under the Daycare Act 540/2018, the director must have the qualification of a kindergarten teacher (section 26) or a social pedagogue (section 27) and a master’s degree in education with sufficient leadership skills, including the transitional provisions for personnel. An authentic recognition decision for foreign qualifications by the Finnish National Agency for Education also satisfies the qualification requirement. The successful candidate must provide a health certificate and a criminal background check as required by law before assuming duty. Good spoken and written Finnish is required; English skills are an advantage. Applicants will be contacted by 3 Sept 2026. Interviews will be held at Liedon Town Hall on 4 Sept 2026.
