Lappeenrannan kaupunki, as the responsible authority for South Karelia's employment region, is seeking a university-level intern for a fixed-term, part-time position in the Communications and Marketing unit of the Common Services of the Employment Region. The intern will familiarize themselves with the diverse operations of the employment region and develop their skills from both communications and marketing perspectives. Your contribution will help strengthen the vitality and employment in South Karelia by supporting the region’s and municipalities’ work. The core task is to participate in the planning and execution of the 2027 summer and seasonal work campaign. In addition to this, the intern will participate in other communications and events tasks related to the Employment Region. The role includes attending planning and preparation meetings for the campaign, monitoring and promoting the campaign as a whole, supporting the event coordination with the service expert in charge, and practical tasks such as preparing and executing marketing materials for jobseekers and employers, producing and editing photo/video material, and planning online and social media visibility. Collaboration with campaign stakeholders is also an important part of the role. The most visible part of the campaign will take place January–February 2027, with the region hosting about five summer/seasonal events in South Karelia. Responsibilities include event preparation, assisting with interviews, collecting feedback from participants, and documentary recording with photos and video clips for dissemination in the region’s communications. Feedback analysis from events and involvement in evaluation and reporting are also part of the work. What we expect: the internship can be filled by someone currently studying in a suitable university degree for at least the second year. Success in the role requires a willingness to learn quickly and adequate knowledge of the importance and role of communications and marketing in public services. Good command of Finnish and English is required, as communications principles require handling both languages. Clear written and spoken communication, ability to work autonomously as well as enjoy teamwork, and the ability to work as part of the employment region’s expert community with support from both service and communications/marketing professionals. The internship will primarily take place at the employment region’s office in Lappeenranta (Finland). At the start, a hybrid arrangement will be agreed (one day per week remote) and a plan for distributing approximately 25h22min/week (70% of full-time) around studies. How to apply: through Kuntarekry with a CV and a motivation letter in English, and Finnish explanation of how you meet the tasks and requirements and what is your skill level. Eligibility requires being enrolled in at least the second year of a relevant university degree and good Finnish and English skills. Interviews and selections will take place during week 38.
