The Data Center team designs and operates some of the most sophisticated electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems in the world. Facility Technicians at Google data centers operate, monitor and support physical facilities conditions. Some duties include heating and cooling of air and water, power supply, generators, UPS systems, electrical distribution and monitoring systems. You will inspect, maintain and repair data center systems such as piping and non-critical electrical or mechanical components. You will provide daily assistance to senior technicians as you read blueprints and conduct tours of systems. You will develop approaches to reduce operational costs while improving data center efficiency. You ensure environmental and safety standards are met, identify problems and perform repairs quickly. In emergencies you manage performance issues and outages to minimize recovery time. The Data Center team builds and maintains Google’s platforms and networks to provide the best user experience. Pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience and education. Finland: €92,000 - €94,000 (EUR) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits.

Responsibilities
- Empower your team through hiring, talent development, and career support, while integrating Google-wide strategy with internal and external partners, ensuring aligned goals.
- Direct operational budgets and expense forecasting, formulate and execute cost-effective strategies with a focus on total cost of ownership.
- Fulfill service level agreements (SLAs) for uptime, efficiency, and cost with internal teams, set strategy and plan deployments across multiple sites.
- Apply critical thinking and innovation in addressing traditional and emergent data center issues, while demonstrating flexibility and the ability to support operations, taking the lead in responding to critical events when necessary.
- Implement and drive a safety culture at the site, while leading by example, deliver results, develop people, and build community.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in management of teams performing installation, maintenance, or upgrade work in data center or business-critical facilities.
- 7 years of experience in heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC), electrical, controls, water chemistry, generators, or other similar technical domains.
- 5 years of experience in data centers, hospitals, hotel industry, power plants, High Voltage (HV) electrical substations, or other mission-critical facility maintenance and operations.
- Experience managing a mission-critical facilities portfolio or operations.
- Understanding of the operations and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and control systems in a data center environment.
- Ability to develop and grow team members, through coaching, mentoring, and training.
- Excellent people management and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
