Rovaniemi City operates 21 basic education schools. Basic education is general education with both upbringing and teaching tasks. The aim is to support students’ growth as people and members of society and to provide the student with eligibility for further studies in secondary education. The job of a school attendance supervisor is to support the student’s learning and functional ability in cooperation with the teacher. A school attendance supervisor creates conditions for the student’s mental and physical health as well as social well-being through their own work. Competence requirements include a qualification suitable for the task (a higher education degree, a polytechnic degree, a vocational qualification or equivalent previous studies) and the ability to act as a group supervisor for pupils, or a person who can provide primary school, pre-primary, special education, or subject teaching. A person eligible to be a classroom teacher, pre-school teacher, or guidance counselor is also suitable. If the position cannot be filled with a qualified person, temporarily a person with sufficient education and skills may be chosen. Applicants such as those studying education or youth work or other persons with the required training and skills may apply for short-term substitutions. We require good cooperation and interaction skills, flexibility, and initiative. We also require at least 18 years of age and sufficient Finnish language skills. Prior experience in similar tasks and a welfare-oriented approach is valued. Applications are submitted via electronic application at www.kuntarekry.fi. We will contact applicants to agree on an interview time. At the interview, we verify identity, work and educational certificates and possible other documents. Suitable applicants will be registered as approved temporary applicants in the recruitment system.
