This vacancy is for Esbo city’s early childhood education unit. The daycare is located in Esboviken in modern, well-equipped premises, 200 meters from the Lippulaiva shopping centre with good transport connections. The facilities are tailored for children from 10 months to 6 years and include a gym hall, workshop space and activity room. We are looking for a child day care worker who is interested in developing early childhood pedagogy with the child’s best interests at heart. The position is for one of our 1–2 year groups, which consists of 12 children. The group distribution across floors is: Floor 1 (12 children per group) Seals 1–2-year-olds, Gudds 1–2-year-olds, Frogs 1–2-year-olds. Floor 2 (16–21 children per group) Eagles 2–5-year-olds, Crabs 2–4-year-olds, Lizards 2–5-year-olds, Gulls 2–5-year-olds. You will be part of a team with another day care worker and a teacher, plan, implement and evaluate activities, and be part of a positive, supportive work community where humor and joy in work are part of daily life. The role requires openness, a structured work environment, and focus on child-centered practice that listens to children’s thoughts, needs, and curiosity. Area of agreement: AKTA General municipal service and employment collective agreement. The job is a fixed-term position. Qualifications include: Eligibility in accordance with the Small Child Pedagogy Act (540/2018) and a suitable basic degree in pedagogical activities and supervision, a basic degree in social and health care or another equivalent degree, e.g. child caregiver, day care worker and youth caretaker. Excellent oral and written skills in Swedish. We expect the selected candidate to present a criminal background check under section 6(2) of the Finnish Penal Code. The Infectious Diseases Act requires investigating the risk of tuberculosis infection among professionals in social and health care and those working with children of school age.
