Early Childhood Social Worker

The role is for an Early Childhood Social Worker at the Ylästön day care centre in Vantaa. The incumbent participates as a member of an interdisciplinary team in the planning, implementation and evaluation of pedagogical activities. You will be responsible for cooperation with families in educational matters, strengthening community and participation with guardians and other family-activity actors, and developing services and new practices to promote the well-being and sense of community for children and families. You will also promote child well-being and guide children, families and guardians. The day care centre employs 17 early childhood professionals and a rotating amount of support staff. The unit is part of the Ylästön unit, which consists of three day care centres and is led by a dual-management model. The unit practices inclusive leadership and aims to provide space for professional expertise. We want a collaborative, encouraging, relaxed and goal-oriented atmosphere where everyone can do good work. We are looking for early childhood social workers with a positive professional approach that highlights children’s strengths. You should be flexible, positive and a team player who listens to children with a sensitive ear and is present in their everyday life. You will see the child’s growth, development and learning as a positive path that you will walk together with the child, their guardians and the whole team.
