This vacancy is for a varhaiskasvatuksen sosionomi (early childhood social worker) at Y.E.S. Päiväkoti, part of Vantaan kaupunki’s Education and Learning division. The role involves participating as a member of an multiprofessional team in planning, implementing and evaluating pedagogical activities, and taking responsibility for child- and family-centered cooperation. The position is located at Y.E.S. Päiväkäoti, a bilingual (English and Finnish) daycare in Hagelstamintie, Pakkaala, Vantaa. The unit currently has eight groups, of which two are pre-school groups, and the sosionomi duties focus on the 3–5-year-old group this season. We value a positive, professional, child-centered approach, flexible teamwork, listening to children with empathy, and supporting children’s well-being and inclusion. The culture emphasizes research-informed practice via the ProVaka method for promoting social skills. Employment terms follow the Municipal general collective agreement (KVTES). Salary is 3113–3218 EUR per month, with a 3–8% seniority-based allowance depending on experience. Requirements include: Vocational teacher qualification in early childhood education (Varhaiskasvatuksen sosionomi) and proficient spoken and written Finnish and English. Multicultural work experience is a plus. The job is full-time with a 6-month trial period, starting as soon as a suitable candidate is found.
