Assistant in early childhood education and care

Kellarpellon day care is located on the same site as Kellarpellon school at Kellartie 63B 57710 Savonlinna. We support happiness, safety and joyful learning experiences for children, aligned with development through new knowledge and skills. Play, movement and music, and collaborative activity are the heart of our work; childhood is unique. We seek a early childhood education assistant for a fixed-term position from 1.9.2026 to 31.7.2027. The contract may end before the fixed term ends if the child’s personal support need ends earlier. The assistant works with a child group as a child- or group-specific helper, guiding and assisting one or more children with support needs. The task is to support the child’s everyday functioning and enable participation in group activities. The assistant fosters the child’s development, learning and well-being in line with early childhood education goals in collaboration with other staff. We require good teamwork and interpersonal skills, flexibility, independent responsibility and a positive and sensitive approach. The eligibility requirement is a suitable education and guidance qualification in the field; other suitable persons may be considered. Local wage level: 2 552,56 €/month. Collective agreement: KVTES. A four-month probationary period is observed. The chosen candidate must provide a tuberculosis clearance under the Communicable Diseases Act (55§) and present a police background check for working with children as required by law (504/2002).
