Social Worker

You will help shape services and build cooperation during a historic period of change as welfare regions develop and new municipal employment areas start operations. The team is based in Espoo, focusing on the Espoo–Kauniainen area. The team is led by a chief social worker and includes nine social counsellors and two social workers. In the employment-promoting services there are nine social workers and three lead social workers in total. We collaborate across team boundaries and regularly come together to discuss social work themes and to promote development needs. As a social worker you act as the primary contact for clients in need of special support, performing service-need assessments and conducting purposeful work. We work to promote clients’ rehabilitation towards employment. We maintain close network cooperation with TE services, adult social work, health care and KELA services, as well as with other welfare units in Western Uusimaa and with municipal employment services. We offer you meaningful client work, fair, flexible and reflective leadership, a motivated team, the possibility of partial remote work (on-site 3–5 days per week), group supervision and professional training to support and maintain your expertise, including opportunities to strengthen language skills through employer-organised training. Workplace address: Komentajankatu 5, Espoo. Working hours: 37 hours 45 minutes per week. The position is permanent. Requirements: Qualification under the Act on Social Welfare Professionals (817/2015), Section 7. Independent working style, good collaboration and teamwork skills. Random drug testing may be required in accordance with the West Uusimaa welfare area drug program. We value a driver’s license and the ability to speak a second domestic language or a willingness to improve language skills. We also value experience in working with adults in social work.
