Rector

We are seeking a Rector for the University of Oulu to lead our multidisciplinary university. The Rector is responsible for ensuring the financial health, efficiency and performance of the university, implementing and developing strategy, and promoting academic excellence, societal impact and the university’s attractiveness. The role requires a Doctoral degree, proven leadership ability, and strong governance and management skills. Excellent Finnish and English language skills are required, Swedish is an asset. The candidate should have experience leading large expert organisations, strong financial and administrative know-how, and an international network. The Rector position is a fixed-term mandate of up to five years and is not covered by the standard work-time act.
