We are seeking a motivated youth worker for a fixed-term position with Koillinen Youth Work Unit, from 5 October to 31 December 2026. The role sits in the unit’s youth team; other locations include Tapulikaupunki youth house and Suutarila youth house. The worker will primarily operate at Jakomäen youth house, offering meaningful leisure activities and support to youths aged 9–17. The unit also includes the Transport Operations team and the Safe Spaces for Koillinen project. You will create prerequisites for youth agency, provide support to youths in various life situations, and work with youths individually, in small groups and networks. You will ensure youths have opportunities to engage in activities in their own area and influence their surroundings, conducting youth work in both physical and digital environments, using evidence-based methods, producing and sharing information about local youths, and developing and growing in the role. Your tasks include guiding youths in open activities, individual work and small groups; planning and implementing activities with youths; promoting youths’ participation and influence; producing and applying information about youths and their needs; creating partnerships and collaborating to enhance youths’ wellbeing across the Koillinen area; communicating via multiple channels with youths about your work. The position requires a vocational upper secondary qualification, for example in education and guidance. Evening and weekend work is typical.
