HSE Safety Supervisor

We are looking for HSE safety supervisors for our client’s marine-industry project environment in Rauma. As an HSE supervisor, you will help ensure that work in the project area is carried out according to safety instructions and agreed practices. The role is hands-on and requires active field work with employees, subcontractors and the project organisation. The role combines fire and occupational safety supervision, risk prevention and daily cooperation with different parties. Duties include: - Inducting employees and subcontractors in safe working practices. - Monitoring fire and occupational safety on the worksite. - Monitoring the use of personal protective equipment and safe working methods. - Processing work permits and ensuring safe working conditions. - Reviewing risk assessments and anticipating possible hazardous situations. - Observing and following up safety deviations and addressing them. - Participating in site meetings and TR inspections. - Promoting safe practices and a safety culture. - Cooperating with the project team, client and other parties working on site. The role highlights the ability to observe the work environment, identify potential risks and address observed safety deficiencies appropriately and constructively. What we expect from you: - Understanding of occupational safety and related legislation. - Ability to identify, assess and manage workplace risks. - Commitment to preventing accidents and hazardous situations. - Clear and firm communication. - Good cooperation and interpersonal skills. - An initiative-taking and responsible approach to work. - Ability to act consistently in busy situations. - Fluent Finnish and English. - Readiness to work shifts. Previous experience in HSE supervision, a shipyard environment, marine industry, construction sites or another industrial environment is an advantage. The role may also suit someone who does not yet have extensive experience in HSE duties but has a suitable industrial or safety background, a good safety mindset and the ability to develop in the role. A basic rescue operations course must be completed before starting work. The selected person must pass a security clearance. Working hours Work is carried out in two shifts: - 06:00–18:00 - 18:00–06:00 Working hours are averaged over a three-week reference period.
