We are looking for a family support worker to join our skilled and committed family work team, assisting client families in child protection and family social work. As a family support worker you will engage in intensified family work under the Child Welfare Act and in family work under the Social Welfare Act. You will support families in a planned manner to strengthen their own resources and improve interaction, ensuring the health and development of children and youths. The work goals are prepared together with the family and the official responsible for the service, and a systemic approach is used. When possible, we also provide professional support person activities and group activities. The work is mobile and mainly takes place in clients’ homes and other everyday environments. You will work in close cooperation with social workers and social instructors and be part of a multidisciplinary network. Our unit provides services in the Kaarina, Parainen and Kimitoön areas. Your workplace is located in Kaarina at the Valkeavuori campus (Veitenmäentie 29, Kaarina). The work is mainly done in the Kaarina area, but if needed also in other municipalities. You have access to the employer’s cars, but in practice you should be able to use your own car. Working hours are mainly weekdays between 8:00 and 18:00. We offer you an experienced and skilled team in a supportive, multidisciplinary work community. The role combines independent work, meaningful client work and the opportunity to support families in different life situations. We offer flexible working hours, enabling flexible planning of your work and calendar. Family support workers also have the possibility of partial remote work. Regular group supervision and a systemic team support you in your work. At our three sites, family support workers, family workers and a responsible family support worker work, providing a broad professional network and support from colleagues. We expect you to be sensitive, present and ready to face challenging situations across diverse families and life situations. We value a flexible, client-oriented and reflective way of working, with good cooperation and communication skills. Eligibility requires a relevant social and health care university degree or a previous college-level degree. Prior experience in family work within child protection and/or child/family social work and language skills (e.g., Swedish, English) are considered an asset. Proficiency in Finnish is required. The Varsinais-Suomi welfare region is a young, developing organization, so we hope for a positive attitude to change and an interest in developing your work. If you want to do meaningful work supporting families in everyday life and strengthen the wellbeing of children and youths, send your application and become part of our skilled family work team. Interviews will be held in week 37.
