Looking for a flexible way to do meaningful work that fits your life? We are recruiting relief workers for instructor duties in Honkalampi Foundation’s supported living services. You may be a practical nurse with medication permits, a social services professional or a registered nurse. Honkalampi Foundation provides round-the-clock supported living for adults who need support in everyday life. The need for support may be related, for example, to an intellectual disability. Our homes are across North Karelia: Ilomantsi, Lieksa, Polvijärvi, Outokumpu, Liperi, Kontiolahti, Hammaslahti and Joensuu. We are recruiting relief workers for all our homes, particularly in Lieksa and Polvijärvi at present. Everyday life here is built on participation, safety and the right to live a life of one’s own. We provide a safe environment where interaction and varied communication methods are central. We want our homes to be places where everyone is heard, understood and encountered as themselves. Here, a home is a home. What is the work like? As an instructor, you support and enable residents’ everyday lives in accordance with their own wishes, needs and goals. Your work includes care and supporting well-being, as well as helping residents with everyday tasks such as household chores, shopping and outdoor activities. You also plan and carry out activities together with residents, based on their wishes. These may include exercise, baking, games, outings, practising digital skills, or simply spending time and chatting together. As a relief worker, you cover instructor absences as needed. Assignments may be sudden, short absences to cover, but we also offer longer substitutions primarily to our relief workers. You can decide which shift requests to accept. What kind of colleague are we looking for? We are looking for caring and responsible relief workers interested in the field of intellectual disabilities. Success in the role requires good interpersonal and teamwork skills, as well as readiness to take on substitutions at short notice. We expect you to have: – Suitable social and health care education (for example, practical nurse, registered nurse or social services professional), or at least two-thirds of relevant studies completed. – Medication-treatment training and valid medication permits. – Vaccination protection in accordance with section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act. – A hygiene passport and a health-status statement for people working with food. The selected employee must present a valid criminal record extract before employment begins. What we offer – A flexible way to work as a relief worker that suits your life. – Hourly pay in accordance with the collective agreement for private social services (pay grade G20C for a qualified instructor). – Thorough induction for relief duties. – Support from an experienced, approachable supervisor and the work community. You will become part of the everyday lives of our unique residents, gain valuable experience in the field of intellectual disabilities, and work with skilled colleagues around you—you will not be left on your own.
