Rinnekodit is a workplace that supports the overall wellbeing of its employees. Together, we build a respectful and equal working culture where everyone can develop. We are now looking for an instructor (practical nurse) for a fixed-term position from 19 October 2026 to 18 April 2027. Welcome to Rinnekodit Annala! Annala small-group home is located in the beautiful natural surroundings of Lakisto, Espoo, at the heart of a safe village community. Nearby are an accessible playground and disc golf course, as well as an accessible nature trail. We provide small-group housing for nine children and young people aged 6–17 with profound intellectual disabilities and autism. Annala is divided into two units, Minttu and Ville, whose staff form one team. The children and young people living at Annala need different levels of support and guidance in all daily activities and executive functioning. We use augmentative and alternative communication methods with them, such as pictures. Role and its objectives As an instructor, you play a key role in identifying clients’ individual needs and ensuring high-quality care. You work professionally, respecting clients’ right to self-determination and treating them with appreciation. You work according to our shared values and ground rules, focusing on clients’ needs. The work includes varied and sometimes challenging situations, which your team helps you resolve. Varied workdays offer opportunities to develop professionally and learn something new every day. Your work includes functional guidance and support in everyday activities, and possibly administering medication. You are a safe adult for the children and young people as part of the team. You also provide clients with physical support in daily activities. You will actively participate in planning and carrying out clients’ everyday lives; our days include plenty of outdoor activities and creative activities together with clients. We also work actively with the children’s and young people’s families. We invest in the quality and delivery of induction, and you do not need previous experience in exactly this kind of work. We work together and support one another when needed; an experienced work community will support you. In your everyday work, you can also strengthen your skills in encountering, preventing and managing challenging situations. We expect you to have: - A practical nurse qualification and registration in the Valvira Suosikki register. - A social and healthcare professional card (Kanta certificate card), or readiness to obtain the card during the probationary period. - Readiness to demonstrate medication-care competence by completing the medication permit within four months of starting employment and regularly during employment. - Readiness to work three shifts. - Basic Finnish skills, needed for documentation and interacting with clients. - Vaccination protection under section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act. Rinnekodit is a smoke-free and substance-free workplace. We ask the selected candidate to provide a criminal-record extract under Act 504/2002. The extract must be no more than six months old. Work community and culture Our work community includes practical nurses, instructors, a nurse and your supervisor, the service-unit manager. Your supervisor is committed to supporting your development and that of the whole work community through a coaching approach—encouraging you, giving feedback and listening when concerns arise. We encourage each other to grow, both on our own paths and together! We follow safer-space principles. By observing these principles together, we ensure a respectful, safe and pleasant work community where everyone can be themselves. We offer you: - Pay according to grade G22 (€2,562.61–€2,901.33), plus shift allowances under the private social services collective agreement. - Sports, culture and wellbeing benefits. - A fixed-term supplement of €150 per month for challenging work with people with intellectual disabilities. - Comprehensive occupational healthcare and extensive leisure-time accident insurance. - Your own induction buddy and a welcoming induction planned for you. - A role where you can use your skills and strengths. - The opportunity to participate in career coaching. - The opportunity to apply for housing through us in the Helsinki metropolitan area. Applying and recruitment You can submit your application easily by answering a few questions. We hope you submit your application in Finnish. The application period ends on 28 October 2026, but we may close recruitment earlier if we find the right person. We will hold the first interviews no later than the week beginning 12 October 2026. Work starts immediately or by agreement. We value diversity in our work community and encourage people from different backgrounds to apply. Questions? Please contact: Service-unit manager Sini Karvonen (acting supervisor from 1 October to 30 October 2026), weekdays 09:00–15:00, telephone 040 6249 554, or sini.karvonen@rinnekodit.fi.
