About the role

What if your next Superintendent Pharmacist role gave you the opportunity to help build the pharmacy of the future? Montu operates one of the UK's largest medical cannabis services. Our digital pharmacy processes approximately 50,000 prescriptions every month, is growing at around 10% month-on-month, and supports patients across the UK who have often exhausted conventional treatment options. We're now looking for an exceptional Superintendent Pharmacist to provide professional and regulatory leadership as we enter our next stage of growth. This isn't simply about maintaining an existing pharmacy operation. You'll have the opportunity to shape how a rapidly scaling digital pharmacy operates — from clinical governance and regulatory strategy to technology, automation and the development of new services. The opportunity Working alongside our Medical Director, Pharmacy General Manager and senior leadership team, you'll have professional oversight of a pharmacy operation encompassing: 50,000+ prescriptions per month, A 100+ person multidisciplinary pharmacy team, Controlled Drugs governance, GPhC and MHRA compliance, Regulatory inspections and audits, Pharmacy systems, SOPs and clinical governance, Millions of pounds of medicines annually, Technology and automation initiatives designed to transform dispensing at scale. You'll have genuine influence over how the operation develops. What you'll own You'll provide patient-centred professional and clinical leadership across Montu Pharmacy, including: Acting as the senior professional authority for pharmacy practice, Maintaining robust GPhC, MHRA and Controlled Drugs governance, Leading regulatory inspection and audit readiness, Ensuring SOPs and governance frameworks remain safe, scalable and fit for purpose, Overseeing professional standards, training and competency across the pharmacy team, Partnering with Operations and Technology to improve dispensing systems and automation, Supporting safe medicines management across a rapidly growing operation, Evaluating new services and opportunities from a clinical and regulatory perspective, Supporting future expansion through scalable governance, Representing Montu with regulators and relevant industry bodies, Who we're looking for: We're interested in pharmacists who combine strong professional judgement with an appetite for innovation. You might already be a Superintendent Pharmacist, or you may be a senior pharmacy leader ready for significantly broader ownership. You'll need: Current GPhC registration, Senior pharmacy leadership experience, Strong knowledge of GPhC and relevant MHRA requirements, Controlled Drugs governance experience, Experience leading within a high-volume pharmacy environment, Experience preparing for or managing regulatory inspections, Experience within online pharmacy, healthtech, private healthcare, medical cannabis, multi-site operations or pharmacy automation would be particularly valuable, but we're equally interested in exceptional pharmacy leaders from other environments who can demonstrate that they have successfully led through growth and change. The Environment Montu is growing quickly, and this role will suit someone who enjoys building rather than simply maintaining. You'll be joining an organisation where you'll encounter complexity, make meaningful decisions and have the opportunity to improve how things are done. We don't expect you to have every answer on day one. We do expect you to be comfortable applying strong professional judgement, challenging constructively and helping us build the systems and governance required for the next stage of growth. What we offer: The salary range is £100,000 to £110,000 depending on experience, with a 25% performance-related bonus.
