About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Ward Nurse for Lohja Hospital on the medical ward 4A and 4B. Do you enjoy leadership and development while still staying connected to clinical nursing? Join Lohja Hospital as an Assistant Ward Nurse. The position begins 24 September 2026 or as agreed. You will work as the nurse partner to the ward nurse, with another Assistant Ward Nurse and two teaching nurses in the team. Your duties include: organizing and coordinating daily operations, creating shift rosters and implementations, clinical nursing for about half of the time, managing the patient’s overall care in cooperation with the multidisciplinary team, and collaboration with ward physicians and other professionals. The work is varied and responsible, and you will have the opportunity to help develop nursing and influence daily efficiency. Our ward has 45 beds (4A has 12 beds, 4B has 29 beds) and a four-bed neurology rehabilitation unit. The unit operates as an on-call unit handling internal medicine, neurology, and pulmonary/heart patients. Average patient stay is about four days. Emphasis on triage in emergencies, care delivery in rapidly changing situations, and multidisciplinary discharge planning. We work as a close multidisciplinary team in the care of acutely ill medical patients.
