Postdoctoral Researcher in Strategic Business Development

A position for a two-year fixed-term postdoctoral researcher is advertised in the Management Academic Unit at the University of Vaasa. The role is located in the field of business administration and is part of the Strategic Business Development research group. The postdoctoral researcher will participate in planning and conducting research projects and in applying for national and international research funding. A key part of the role is to build long-term collaboration with regional companies, development organisations, and university-centre consortia, and to identify emerging opportunities for research, development, and innovation collaboration related to regional business development needs. The post includes teaching and supervision duties in the Master’s Programme in Business Development. Teaching will be closely linked to regional research and development activities with students participating in regional development through course projects, industry cooperation, and theses. The postdoctoral researcher is expected to have a strong interest in research-led pedagogy and the ability to integrate research, teaching, and regional impact. The position requires regular work at master’s programme locations in Seinäjoki, Kokkola, and Vaasa, meaning that the primary workplace will be in one of these cities. Experience with practice-oriented teaching and ability to inspire adult learners is valued. Applicants should be interested in collaborating with industry and regional actors, and in multidisciplinary and networked work environments. The emphasis is on research-based collaboration and networks especially in the Seinäjoki and Kokkola regions, and the postdoc will engage with industry partners to build national and international research networks and to develop new research and RDI projects in cooperation with regional companies and other stakeholders. The annual working time is 1612 hours. The exact duties will be agreed annually in a total work plan.
