Housing Services Instructor

East Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County is seeking an INSTRUCTOR for a permanent position. Work begins on September 1, 2026, or as agreed. Upon starting, the instructor's duties will be located in the home-based services team of housing services for working-age adults. The instructor operates within the functional entity of housing and home-based support services for both Working-Age Services and Disability Services. The job description is content-wise the same for both service areas, and the work requires smooth cooperation with both. However, the work is primarily located in one of the service areas, depending on the unit's operations and service needs. The core content of the position is to guide and support the client according to an individual implementation plan to strengthen the client's right to self-determination, participation, and functional capacity. The work is carried out with a rehabilitative approach aimed at supporting the client's physical, psychological, and social capabilities and promoting a daily life that is as independent, safe, and client-centered as possible. The work also includes proactive assessment of the client's service needs, planning of support measures, and implementation of solutions in cooperation with the teams of both service areas and the client's other cooperation network. The employee assesses the client's functional capacity, monitors the flow of daily life, and records observations in the wellbeing services county's client information systems. Clients' need for support is often multidisciplinary and may relate to substance abuse and mental health challenges, intellectual disability, autism spectrum traits, or other conditions impairing functional capacity. The diverse challenges of clients may cause unpredictable situations, which is why the employee must be able to act calmly and professionally even in rapidly changing situations. The work requires good interaction and cooperation skills, independent decision-making ability, and the ability to operate in situations requiring change and pressure tolerance. Working in clients' homes requires professional boundary-setting, situational awareness, and the ability to act safely in varying client situations. The employee ensures client and occupational safety and must be able to work in an environment where the threat of violence cannot be completely eliminated and not all risk factors can be managed through occupational safety measures. Work is performed in clients' own homes and home environments, and working hours are between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM according to flexible working hours. The work is mobile, so a driver's license and the use of a private car are considered an advantage. Occupational health services are provided by Mehiläinen. Eligibility requirements include a vocational qualification in social and health care or a previous equivalent degree, or a suitable university of applied sciences degree such as a social services professional (sosionomi), gerontologist (geronomi), or rehabilitation instructor, as well as registration in the register of social and health care professionals (JulkiSuosikki). Language requirements include good oral and written skills in one domestic language and satisfactory skills in a second domestic language. Medication administration training is required for the position, which can also be completed at the start of employment. The terms of employment are determined by the collective agreement for social and health care personnel (SOTE-agreement). The position is subject to a 6-month probationary period. Working hours are 38.25 h/week and the position-specific salary is 2695.75 €/month. Selection is conditional until the selected person has presented an occupational health assessment of their ability to perform the duties associated with the work within one month of starting work.
