About the role

As the Environmental Health Manager, you will lead the environmental health responsibility area of approximately 30 people, which includes units for health protection, food supervision, and veterinary care (including the city's animal shelter). Your responsibilities include the effective management, development, and reporting of the operations and finances of the entire responsibility area. As Environmental Health Manager, you will act as the supervisory authority in accordance with several different laws and as the representative of your field in the Building and Permit Committee. The position involves inter-municipal cooperation within the field of environmental health. As the manager of the responsibility area, you will lead a professional organization supported by the immediate supervisors of the units. The position emphasizes personnel management and the management of processes concerning statutory supervisory tasks. Remote work is partially possible. The work begins on October 1, 2026, or by agreement, and is a permanent official relationship. The salary is €5,950.13/month; the professional supplement of the technical agreement is a maximum of 8% depending on experience. Eligibility requirements are a higher education degree and sufficient experience in the tasks of the sector. In addition, sufficient experience in supervisory roles is required. The person selected for the position must present a certificate regarding their state of health (pre-employment medical examination, KVhL Section 7). A six (6) month probationary period applies to the position. We hope for a customer-oriented and development-positive approach to managing the responsibility area. Good interaction and interpersonal skills, as well as good written and oral communication, are advantageous for success in the position.
