Healthcare Assistant

This role is based at Liinahaka 2, part of Liinahakan’s 24/7 residential elder care in the Vätti district of Turku. The unit consists of six group homes (Liinahaka 1 & 2), each housing 12 residents. You work in comfortable premises with good transport links, and it is easy to reach by car as well. In your daily work you will encounter multisick older people in need of substantial support in daily activities. The job emphasizes resident autonomy, a dignified life, and individualized care. You collaborate closely with relatives. As a practical nurse, you independently deliver basic care, participate in medication administration after obtaining authorization, assess residents’ functional capacity and care needs, and draft care plans using the RAI quality system. You are an active member of a multidisciplinary team and you will supervise students. The position involves shift work (3 shifts). A willingness to learn and develop residents’ daily life is important; you may already have experience or be a recent graduate. You have good communication and collaboration skills and excellent Finnish (spoken and written). A valid LOVe medication license (possible to obtain after starting employment within agreed timeframe), knowledge of the RAI assessment system, and experience from elderly care are considered advantageous. The eligibility criterion is a professional qualification in social and health care (practical nurse) or an earlier school-level qualification with a valid registration in JulkiTerhikki and JulkiSuosikki.
