Special Education Teacher

The role involves providing special education for grades 7–9. Onkilahden Comprehensive School is a K-9 comprehensive school that operates in several buildings. The school educates about 780 pupils, of whom about 250 are in the lower grades. Our school is multicultural and includes preparatory teaching classes as well as the city’s music groups for grades 1–9 and sports groups for grades 7–9. The position requires eligibility under Decree 986/1998. Excellent Finnish language skills (spoken and written) are required. We value good knowledge of the curriculum and legislation related to supporting learning, the ability and willingness to collaborate flexibly with other teachers and diverse learners, readiness to develop flexible teaching arrangements and a pupil-centered working approach, the ability and willingness to contribute to a positive school culture based on pedagogy, experience with multicultural schools and single- school structures, up-to-date information and communication technologies skills, and willingness to take on assigned responsibilities as agreed.
