Data Engineer

Data Engineer to Elisa Finance Center of Excellence in Helsinki. We are looking for a curious Data Engineer to join the Finance Center of Excellence and develop and maintain financial data pipelines and ETL processes. You will work with financial data, ETL processes and data models, learn how modern data platforms are built and how data supports reporting, planning and decision-making in a large organization. This is a hands-on role where you will contribute to meaningful development tasks while increasing your understanding of the finance data ecosystem and data engineering. In the role you will: Participate in the development and maintenance of financial data ETL processes and pipelines (e.g. reporting data, cost allocations and transactional data) Work with SQL and data processing tools to prepare, shape and validate data Support data quality assurance, investigate issues and identify data flow deviations Collaborate with data engineers and finance experts to understand data needs, business logic and data structures Document pipelines, data transformations and data models Analyze and improve the finance data architecture Develop the reliability, monitoring and documentation of data flows together with the team The workplace is located in Helsinki Pasila with a flexible on-site arrangement about three days per week. What we expect from you? If you enjoy data, want to understand business operations from a data perspective and are interested in developing your skills at the finance interface, this role is for you. This role is well suited if you have: A relevant university degree in e.g. computer science, data engineering, information systems, financial analytics or similar field One year or more of experience in similar roles Understanding of SQL and data processing concepts such as ETL, data modelling and data warehousing Interest in applying accounting, corporate finance and financial data in reporting and decision-making Strong problem-solving ability and motivation to identify root causes and solutions Ability to work systematically and independently and to collaborate with others Good written and spoken communication skills in Finnish and English Previous experience with Python or other scripting languages, data modelling, data solution design or ETL development in a business environment is considered advantageous Experience with ERP systems or BI tools is also helpful.
