What we offer you: You will work as an early childhood education teacher in the "Taikapavut" (Magic Beans) group for 3-5 year olds at Makasiinikuja, in a group with two educators; your work partner will be an early childhood education childcare worker. The two groups at Makasiinikuja kindergarten cooperate in terms of working hours and activities; the groups are physically located close to each other in adjacent buildings. The substitution may continue for a longer period. Overall, our early childhood education unit will consist of three nearby kindergartens next September: Linnunlaulu kindergarten with 8 groups, Makasiinikuja kindergarten with 2 groups, and Aurinkomäki kindergarten with 2 pre-primary education groups; there are a total of 12 groups in the unit. Important priorities in early childhood and pre-primary education in Pornainen are the well-being of children and families, children's participation, and the maintenance of staff's pedagogical expertise. In Pornainen, you will work in a calm, green environment close to nature, and the location in a peaceful rural landscape provides excellent conditions and development opportunities for education and teaching. Our personnel resources are functional; in some groups, up to 4 educators work when necessary. During the workday, you can enjoy hot coffee provided by the municipality during your break, and outside working hours, you have access to the municipality's gym for exercise. As a municipal employee, you are entitled to sports and recreation vouchers as well as comprehensive occupational health care. In Pornainen, we have a flexible and positive attitude towards staff training and support self-directed study according to the guidelines determined by the Education Board as paid study days and through working hour arrangements at the workplace. In Pornainen, you will work in cooperation with a special education teacher for early childhood education, an early childhood education expert, and the kindergarten director, who is usually reachable from your workplace! We also cooperate with the Porvoo Music Institute weekly in "muskarit" (music classes), which all interested children can participate in free of charge during the early childhood education day. How to join us: As an early childhood education teacher, you will implement the activities of the children's group through observation, planning, and evaluation together with other staff, guardians, and cooperation partners in accordance with early childhood education plans. You will act as the leader of your team and be responsible for the pedagogical planning and activities of your group, implementing them together with other staff. You are able to take responsibility for your work with professional skill and professionalism. We want you as a member of our work community because you support children's participation, work with a strength-based pedagogical approach, and are positive and brave in trying new things for the benefit of the children. Your work is based on a pedagogical vision of the child's holistic everyday life and the utilization of both the surrounding nature and the immediate environment in the daily activities of your children's group. As an early childhood education teacher, you possess good interaction skills, meeting children, guardians, and colleagues warmly and professionally in cooperation. Salary and other terms: Salary and other terms of employment are determined by OVTES and the level salary for qualified early childhood education teachers (3081.33 € - 3196.64 € / month + possible qualification supplements). Qualification supplements (15 € - 52.88 € / month) are paid to early childhood education teachers and masters with the required degree. Qualification requirements are determined in accordance with Chapter 6 of the Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018). A 3-month probationary period applies to this fixed-term position. In the absence of qualified applicants, we also consider students in the field and other applicants without formal qualifications, in which case the position is filled for the period 1.9.2026 - 28.2.2027 according to the KVTES level salary (3081.33 € - 3196.64 € / month); probationary period 3 months. Before selection, the applicant is required to present a criminal record extract (Act on the Checking of the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children 504/2002). The Communicable Diseases Act (§55) requires the clarification of the risk of tuberculosis infection for those working with children under school age before the employment relationship begins. A tuberculosis questionnaire is given to the applicant during the application/selection phase.
