Job Description
Safarimarket is the local travel shop of Scandinavian Travel Group (STG), specializing in selling activities and experiences in Lapland for walk-in travelers visiting Levi. With over 20 years of experience, we provide diverse, intelligent, and customer-friendly service in a multicultural environment. Work Location & Conditions - Location: Levi resort, Lapland (Safarimarket / STG office) - Main office language: English - Client languages: Excellent command of written and spoken English. Finnish and other languages are a big advantage. - Schedule: Full-time, flexible winter hours (according to agreement) - Contract period: 5 months, fixed-term 01.11.2026 to 31.03.2027 Your Responsibilities - Daily Scheduling & Activity Planning: Updating and organizing daily activities in the booking system, ensuring accurate availability. - Customer Service & Sales: Serving walk-in customers, handling online sales, social media inquiries, travel agents, and group sales. - Communication with Local Suppliers: Coordinating with activity suppliers and service partners regarding daily sales reports, last-minute requests, and operational updates. - Front Desk Team Operations: Engaging in daily teamwork and operations. Delegating, motivating, and maintaining team spirit under seasonal pressure. - Customer Materials: Preparing and printing customer handouts, updating front desk display materials, digital screens, and other customer-facing content. - Forward Planning: Staying ahead of operations by monitoring and preparing for upcoming weeks. Requirements & Ideal Profile - Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar position in a travel company in Finland/Scandinavia, OR at least 1 year in customer service and sales in a retail shop. - IT and booking systems proficiency: Confident use of Bokun (or similar), Travius, email Outlook, Microsoft Office applications, and daily reporting platforms (full training provided). - Sales-oriented thinking with a proactive approach to offering/upselling activities and understanding capacity limits to avoid overbooking. - Punctual, reliable, and highly self-disciplined with meticulous attention to detail. - Friendly, composed, and solution-oriented approach to guests and partners. - Local knowledge and Lappish erudition: Familiarity with the culture, nature, and tourism products of Lapland to provide authentic recommendations. - Ability to prioritize, multitask, and stay organized in time-sensitive, high-volume situations. - Supervisory experience with small teams is a strong advantage. 1. Compensation & Benefits - Contract Type & Justification: This is a fixed-term employment contract. The fixed-term nature is legally justified by the strictly seasonal nature of the winter travel business in Lapland. - Base Salary & Included Hours - Contract Type: Fixed Monthly Salary. - Monthly Base Salary: to be discussed - Included Working Hours: The base salary covers an average of 37.5 to 40 hours of work per week (approx. 160 hours per month). - Supplements (Paid in addition to the base salary): - Sunday & Public Holiday Work: In accordance with the Finnish Working Hours Act, all hours worked on a Sunday or an official public holiday are compensated with a 100% pay increase (double pay). - Evening & Night Work: Work performed during evening and night hours will be compensated with the appropriate hourly supplements as defined in the current Program Services Sector Collective Agreement (Ohjelmapalvelualan TES). - Overtime & Working Time Averaging: Given the seasonal nature of our work, we utilize a working time averaging arrangement (tasoittumisjakso) under the Finnish Working Hours Act and the Program Services TES. Your hours are averaged over the full 5-month contract period rather than calculated week by week. This allows flexibility for more hours during our peak winter weeks and fewer during quieter periods. - Seasonal Company Performance Bonus: At the end of the winter season, a seasonal bonus is available (specific details and performance metrics will be informed during contract signing).
