Role description: The position is within Soihtu’s customer guidance department, handling welfare notifications and child protection notifications in accordance with social welfare legislation, and assessing service needs and child protection needs in Varsinais-Suomi Wellbeing District. The Soihtu team comprises seven regional teams; the candidate will join the central Soihtu team in Parainen and be responsible for services to clients in Parainen and Kimito. Responsibilities include processing social welfare notifications and inquiries, prioritizing child protection notifications, conducting service need assessments under social welfare law, and multidisciplinary work related to child protection needs. The social worker may, when needed, make decisions on child and family-specific child protection within the Soihtu team. Documentation of client cases is part of the job. Work is independent yet supported by experienced colleagues; Parainen location has two additional social welfare professionals. The role involves collaboration in multidisciplinary networks, development work, participating in Varha’s development work (teams, meetings, supervision, continuing education), evaluating impact, practices, and quality, structural social work, consulting and advising partners. A driving license is required due to mobility of duties. What we expect: eligibility as a social worker under the Social Welfare Professional Act (817/2015), fluent Swedish and Finnish; prior experience in child/family social work or child protection is required. Experience with assessment work and working in Customer Guidance Soihtu is an advantage, as is independence, development orientation and a solution-focused approach. The Central Soihtu team includes 10 social workers, 12 social workers, a nurse and a senior social worker. Tasks are divided so some team members work mainly with child/family clients and others with working-age clients. Our offices are in Karjaa, Paimio, Parainen, Lieto and Loimaa, and the position is currently located in Parainen.
