Your role as a childcare worker Security is a prerequisite for children's learning - and as a childcare worker, you help build it together with the children and your team. Through a responsive, engaged, and empathetic approach, you contribute to an environment where both children and guardians feel seen and welcome. Together with your team, you plan and implement pedagogical activities and create a structured, stimulating, and meaningful day for the children. You work based on the early childhood education curriculum and enjoy trying new working methods that strengthen both the group's and the individual child's development. We create learning environments where children can explore, discover, and learn in a way that is natural and meaningful to them, and as a childcare worker, you are an important part of creating these environments. You are close to the children in their play, capturing their initiatives and helping the play develop further. We work theme-based and let the children's questions, experiences, and curiosity shape the activities. Together with your team, you create content that engages the children and gives them the opportunity to learn through processes that spark interest and joy. You also help make the children's learning visible, for example through documentation, conversations, and reflection, and help them discover their own ways of learning. Inclusion is also an important part of our pedagogical idea. All children should feel involved, competent, and significant. As a childcare worker, you contribute to creating a secure group where friendship, community, and belonging can grow. We use proactive and clarifying working methods that create structure and security for both children and adults. About Finno Day Care and Preschool We have seven children's groups: five groups for children aged 1-5 years and two preschool groups. We are the only Swedish-speaking unit in Espoo that offers early childhood education and preschool both in regular groups and in inclusion groups. In these groups, children from the local area attend together with children who need extra support. Our staff has a high level of qualification across all professional groups, and the work community is characterized by helpfulness, humor, and flexibility. The program provides a structured introduction to our working methods, children's groups, routines, documentation, and pedagogical structures. You will receive support from both colleagues and management, so you can feel secure in your work from day one. You will also be part of working groups with joint responsibility for a specific area, such as the unit's safety. Qualification requirements: Qualification in accordance with the Act on Early Childhood Education and Care (540/2018) For the task, a suitable basic degree in pedagogical activity and guidance, a basic degree in the social and health care sector, or another equivalent degree. E.g., childcare worker, day care worker, and nursing assistant (competence area for pedagogical activity and care of children and young people). Excellent oral and written skills in Swedish. We require: The selected person must present a criminal record extract according to Section 6, subsection 2 of the Criminal Records Act (770/1993). The Communicable Diseases Act obliges the investigation of the risk of tuberculosis infection for employees in the social and health care sector and for those working with children under school age.
