About the role

Role overview: The unit centers around dialysis treatments with hospital-based hemodialysis units across two sites (22 dialysis places total) and an acute dialysis unit at T-hospital’s ICU. The unit also trains home hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis patients, and runs a predialysis clinic. The home dialysis clinic guides and trains patients for safe self-management, while the PD clinic cares for home-peritoneal dialysis patients, offering teaching, support and follow-up, and training relatives and primary health care staff if needed. The predialysis clinic prepares for active treatment and coordinates dialysis planning and dialysis access. The unit operates every day; weekdays have morning and evening shifts, weekends morning shifts. Requirements include Finnish language proficiency and nurse licensure under the Finnish healthcare act.
