Mechanical Designer for Strength Calculation

We are looking for a mechanical designer for ALTEN Finland with strong expertise in strength calculations. In this role, you will work on varied strength-calculation assignments and participate in ensuring the safety, durability and performance of products and structures. Your work includes varied design and analysis tasks, such as: - FEM analyses to ensure equipment durability - Carrying out fatigue analyses and evaluating the results - Dynamic and static assessments of various structures, such as frames and shafts - Performing lifting assessments - Strength calculations for bolted joints - Documenting and reporting calculations in accordance with classification-society requirements - Applying classification-society rules (e.g. DNV, LR, ABS, BV) We expect you to have: - A mechanical engineering degree from a university of applied sciences or a master’s-level engineering degree, or equivalent technical education - Several years of experience with FEM calculations and strength analyses - Experience with Simcenter - Experience with fatigue analyses and dynamic and static assessments - Understanding of bolted-joint calculations and structural dimensioning - Experience calculating and reporting in accordance with classification-society rules (DNV, LR, ABS, BV) - The ability to understand technical systems and analyse details - An independent approach to work, problem-solving skills and good collaboration skills - Fluent English, both written and spoken At ALTEN Finland, we offer various benefits alongside your work: in addition to support for sports and cultural activities and a phone benefit, we look after employee wellbeing with, for example, broad leisure-time accident insurance.
