Automation Specialist

Enersense Engineering seeks an experienced Automation Specialist to join our client’s project team and participate in the successful execution of automation and control systems in industrial projects in Helsinki. In this role you will be responsible for automation design and technical coordination across project phases. You will work closely with project management, electrical and instrumentation teams, suppliers, contractors, and the customer. Responsibilities: leading and coordinating automation design from design phase to commissioning and handover; drafting, reviewing, and approving automation and control system diagrams, specifications, and technical documentation; defining automation requirements and ensuring design compliance with project specifications, standards, and regulations; coordinating automation interfaces with process, electrical, instrumentation and other design disciplines; reviewing technical documentation, drawings, calculations, and supplier documentation; participating in the technical evaluation and selection of automation devices and suppliers; supporting procurement with technical specifications and supplier proposals evaluation; coordinating and supervising automation and supplier collaboration during project execution; design and support integration of control systems; participating in testing, commissioning and troubleshooting tasks; identifying technical risks and assisting in solving issues related to design and implementation; monitoring deliveries, quality and compliance of automation designs; supporting project management with technical expertise, design, and reporting; finalizing automation documentation for commissioning and handover; promoting continuous improvement of automation design practices. Requirements: suitable university degree in automation, electrical or related engineering; several years of experience in automation and control system design; experience with PLC, DCS, SCADA or other industrial control systems; experience with multidisciplinary industrial projects, preferably process industry, energy, manufacturing or infrastructure; good understanding of automation design and instrumentation principles; experience with design documentation, technical specifications and supplier collaboration; prior experience with commissioning, testing and troubleshooting is advantageous; ability to coordinate technical interfaces and work effectively in multidisciplinary project teams; strong problem-solving and analytical skills; good collaboration and stakeholder communication skills and a proactive, responsible work approach; willingness to travel to project sites as needed. About 80% of work located in Helsinki and 20% at project sites.
