About the role
As a Mainframe Network Specialist, you will configure, monitor, and support enterprise network environments to ensure secure, reliable connectivity for critical business applications. You will focus on maintaining network availability and optimal latency across mainframe and specialized platforms, including z/OS, Tandem, and Unisys, with particular emphasis on VTAM and mainframe network protocols. In this role, you will proactively monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity and latency issues, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement network changes and upgrades. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring adherence to enterprise security and compliance standards. Key Responsibilities Maintain network availability and monitor latency for mainframe and specialized platform environments. Configure, support, and troubleshoot mainframe network protocols, including VTAM, on z/OS platforms. Analyze and resolve network connectivity and performance issues, ensuring minimal business impact. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement network changes, upgrades, and best practices. Document network configurations and maintain security, audit, and compliance standards.
