We are looking for a skilled machinist for Polarteknik Oy in a permanent employment contract, 40 hours per week, with a continuing-term arrangement. Polarteknik Oy is a Finnish company specializing in door systems for rail vehicles, designing and manufacturing high-quality interior door systems for leading train manufacturers worldwide. The company is known for strong technical expertise, reliability and long-term development work. Polarteknik offers employees a modern working environment and the opportunity to participate in producing products that improve travel comfort and support sustainable rail traffic. The role involves diverse aluminum profile machining tasks as part of the interior door assemblies for trains. You will work on two milling centers and a semi-automatic saw. You will participate in the manufacturing process from machining to measurements and quality control, with emphasis on precision, quality and technical expertise. Tasks include setting adjustments, modifying programs and producing components according to drawings. The work is done in close cooperation with other production, but you also need an independent and responsible working attitude. Initially, the work is on weekdays in two shifts; in autumn there may be a move to three shifts. Day shift 6:00–14:00, evening shift 14:00–24:00. Fridays are off due to longer workdays on the evening shifts. Start date is flexible between July and August. Requirements: experience in machining, experience with settings and modifying programs, ability to read technical drawings, experience using a micrometer for measurements, careful and precise work, ability to work independently and as part of a team, fluent Finnish. Nice-to-have: knowledge of Camplus software, experience with CNC machining centers, experience in aluminum machining, metal industry education.
