Welcome as a social worker to Kallio Child Welfare, where two fixed-term positions are opening, one on 19.8.2026 and the other on 1.10.2026. Both positions are filled until 30.6.2027. In the expert, encouraging, and humorous work community of Kallio Child Welfare, there are three teams with a total of 20 social workers, a part-time family therapist, two social guides, and three leading social workers. One of our teams is bilingual. Our workplace is located on Helsinginkatu with good transport connections, and employees mainly work in rooms of two or three people. Social work is done both independently and in pairs within a multi-professional team. Your duties include the planning, implementation, and evaluation of outpatient support measures and work during substitute care. Additionally, you are responsible for the preparation and implementation of urgent placements and the preparation of take-overs. The task is suitable for you if you enjoy long-term work and are interested in searching for different solutions to clients' situations together with the client and their close and official networks. At our site, work is done according to a systemic approach and encouraging pair work. To support the work, we offer regular team and systemic work weekly meetings, team supervision, and personal consultation from the immediate supervisor. Legal support for the sector is also available. In addition to interesting and varied work, we offer extensive education and development opportunities. Eligibility: Eligibility is the qualification of a social worker according to Section 7 of the Act on Social Care Professionals 817/2015 and registration in the professional register of the License and Supervision Authority. Language requirements: good oral and written skills in Finnish and satisfactory oral skills in Swedish. The selected person must present an occupational health assessment of their ability to perform the duties of the position. A criminal record extract is required (Act on the investigation of the criminal background of persons working with children 504/2002). Vaccination protection according to Section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act is required. Additionally, we require good interaction and documentation skills. In the absence of applicants meeting the eligibility requirements, the position may be filled temporarily for a maximum of one year by a person who is pursuing education leading to a social worker's degree and has successfully completed basic and core studies in social work and the related practical training. Additionally, the position may be filled temporarily by a person who has completed basic and core studies in social work at the open university, related practical training, and the student has, before the open university studies, completed for example a socionom degree or a higher university degree suitable for the social field (major in social policy, sociology, social psychology or other relevant major for social work). Experience in child welfare social work is considered an advantage. Due to changes in service needs resulting from the legislative reform of social care and child welfare, all open social worker positions are filled as fixed-term for now until 30.6.2027 at the latest.
