Social care worker

Kylmäkosken vankila is a closed facility with 113 places where inmates serve sentences, investigate, and pay fines. The prison is located in Akaa along the Tampere–Turku road (highway 9). Our operations are based on safety, customer-oriented working approach, and open and active interaction. We do impactful on-site work and diverse rehabilitative activities aimed at preventing recidivism. As a supervisor in the prison's work activities, you will support inmates in the change toward a crime-free life. In work activities inmates are active participants and we continuously develop activities to offer meaningful tasks to as many prisoners as possible. As a supervisor you are responsible for guiding inmates' work, supervision, and organizing tasks. You will also be involved in guiding inmates in tasks related to receiving, storing, sorting, packing and shipping prison textiles. In the work activities inmates can study logistics professionally. As a supervisor you work closely with a teacher and the educational institution and participate in assessments. You guide the implementation of work and ensure that work methods and safety instructions are carried out in compliance with regulations. You evaluate inmates' work and record observations in Roti. Your work includes planning and developing work methods, quality control and maintaining tools. You plan tasks purposefully and timely and ensure compliance with fire and occupational safety regulations within the team. You work in close collaboration with other multidisciplinary staff, and your work supports the inmate's sentence plan objectives.
