We are looking for an extremely organized Finance Associate who will play a pivotal role in supporting the growth of the business. Working directly for the Head of Finance & supported by our external advisors, you'll have a varied role, working across all areas of finance and taxation. Responsibilities Working with our external tax accountants, take responsibility for the preparation of timely and accurate monthly financial statements for our German parent company Assist with financial processes for our subsidiary entities (currently USA and UK) Support the Head of Finance with our internal and external reporting Play a key role in our financial planning and forecasting processes Track actual spend against budget and analyze & investigate discrepancies Manage Invoicing and Accounts Receivable Support the continuous improvement of our Finance & Accounting processes and policies Act as the day to day contact for our external tax advisor Work closely with key internal stakeholders BENEFITS Competitive package and share options Flexibility for remote work from home or anywhere else Flexible working hours Working at the heart of a passionate, impact-driven team from around the world A chance to do meaningful work and further our vision of accelerating scientific breakthroughs and global innovation REQUIREMENTS You have 3+ years of relevant professional experience in a start-up, in-house, or external accounting firm You have extensive knowledge in German HGB You have ideally worked with DATEV, familiarity with other ERP software (Netsuite, Xero, Quickbooks, etc) is a plus You have good verbal and written communication skills in German and English You have strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and you enjoy working with data Ownership mentality, financial savviness, creativity, and drive to get things done You are a self-starter with a track record of independently leading new initiatives You bring a passion for working and learning in a fast-growing, mission-focused business Knowledge of international accounting standards, e.g. IFRS and US GAAP is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Working with our external tax accountants, take responsibility for the preparation of timely and accurate monthly financial statements for our German parent company

Requirements

  • You have 3+ years of relevant professional experience in a start-up, in-house, or external accounting firm
  • You have extensive knowledge in German HGB
