Interested in medical physics tasks at Finland’s largest academic hospital? HUS Diagnostiikkakeskus is Finland’s leading producer of clinical laboratory and imaging services. Our main operation covers the specialized medical care of the HUS consortium and the basic health care of wellbeing areas belonging to the HUS region. We also operate laboratory and imaging services for the Kymenlaakso wellbeing region and the South Karelia wellbeing region. We work across eight medical specialties. At HUS Diagnostiikkakeskus, we handle nationally many diagnostically demanding studies and supervise hospital-based research and teaching. About 3,300 laboratory and imaging professionals work across 150 sites. We offer a diverse and challenging role in the medical physics field. The specialization training period will be spent in radiology, clinical physiology and radioisotope medicine, and clinical neurophysiology. Work locations are primarily units on the Meilahti hospital campus, with occasional work across the entire HUS Diagnostiikkakeskus region as needed. The specialization training is demanding, and we require a lot from you too. In addition to official qualifications, you need flexibility in changing duties and good social skills for collaboration with other professional groups. Prior hospital physics specialty internship experience and the theoretical studies necessary for your education are considered advantageous. Please attach to your application information about the university granting you a continued studies entitlement and about the theoretical studies you have completed, as well as the plan approved by the professor responsible for the training regarding remaining internship months in different specialization areas. The job includes radiological work. This is a full-time position with a six-month trial period. The employment relationship is tied to the length of your required internship. Tasks also include radiological work. The monthly pay for a trainee physicist is 4035.83–4193.07 euros depending on experience and determined by the SOTE agreement. Qualifications include a higher university degree in physics or medical physics as main subject, or an equivalent university degree or an degree as a graduate engineer with physics as main subject. Proficiency in Finnish is required in spoken and written form, and Swedish is required in spoken and written form, or Swedish in spoken and written form with acceptable Finnish proficiency. We require vaccination coverage against infectious disease for those working with patients and clients and a health-status report for tuberculosis if working in health care facilities.
