We offer work-trial positions in sorting and pricing at the Nihtisilta sorting center. The trial duration is 3–6 months and is intended for unemployed job seekers to support their return to work. There is no hourly or seasonal work; available roles are work-trial placements for unemployed applicants. You will work in sorting donated goods and pricing, at the Espoon Nihtisillan sorting center of the Helsinki Region Recycling Center. The sorting center is a good place to start exploring circular economy and to gain work experience. You will be a key part of the circular economy, sorting goods, pricing, or warehouse tasks. Tasks include observing product groups, assessing goods, packing items for stores into rollers, and operating a modern textile sorting line. There are intermediate and seasonal warehouse organization duties. The work is physical with a lot of standing, walking and carrying donated goods; textile dust may not be suitable for people with allergies or asthma. We train you from the start, so previous experience may not be necessary. Weekly hours are 32.5 hours in the morning shift. During the trial you may participate in job coaching or, if you wish, complete parts of logistics, business, or environmental studies. Our company language is Finnish, so proficiency in spoken Finnish and ability to function in everyday work situations in Finnish are required. Inductions are also conducted in Finnish. If you want to develop Finnish language skills, we offer language clubs at some sites during work time. Note that the available tasks are work-trial positions. The trial is intended for unemployed job seekers to support their return to work. We encourage participants to use our job coaches and to apply for work or further studies after the trial. Some participants may have the opportunity to continue after the trial with wage subsidies or Helsinki allowance. See guidance on wage subsidies or Helsinki allowance from your local employment services. Read about wage subsidies here: https://tyollisyys.palvelumanuaali.fi/palvelu/palkkatuki-henkiloasiakkaalle Read about Helsinki allowance here: https://www.hel.fi/fi/yritykset-ja-tyo/tyonhakijat/aloita-tyonhaku/vaihtoehtoja-tyollistymiseen/helsinki-lisa-tyonhakijalle Note that we do not offer hourly or seasonal work.
