Early Childhood Education Teacher

The City of Porvoo's early childhood education services are seeking an early childhood education teacher for a substitute position from September 28, 2026, to May 31, 2027. The primary place of work is the 1-4 year old group at the Jokilaakso kindergarten facilities. Jokilaakso kindergarten facilities are located in Kerkkoo in the same building as Jokilaakso school, where two groups operate. In the spirit of community, cooperation is carried out both between kindergarten groups and with the school. Here, a child can safely grow, learn, and develop from under one year of age until the end of primary school in the same building. Cooperation with guardians is also very important to us. The learning environment extends to the nearby nature, and we visit various excursion sites regularly. Experiences and wonders enrich our days. As an early childhood education teacher, you will be responsible for the teaching, education, and care of the children's group and participate in the development of the pedagogy of the entire operational unit. Together with your team, you will be responsible for the planning, implementation, evaluation, and development of the children's group activities. Together with the early childhood education social worker, you will be responsible for the cooperation with the guardians of the children's group and participate in the implementation of the child's participation in the group's activities. An assistant manager model is being piloted in Porvoo. Eligibility requirement is qualification in accordance with the Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018). Working hours: 38.25h/week. Salary according to the OVTES level salary. The position-specific salary for those meeting the eligibility requirements is €3,030.80/month - €3,172.38/month. In addition to the level salary, a qualification supplement of €15/month is paid. Before the selection is confirmed, the selected person must present a criminal record extract in accordance with the Act on the Checking of the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children (504/2002) and show an approved tuberculosis infection screening questionnaire in accordance with Section 55 of the Communicable Diseases Act. The probation period is half the duration of the service relationship, however, a maximum of 6 months.
