We are looking for a Housekeeping Shift Supervisor to join Wilderness Hotel Saariselkä for the winter season 2026–2027. Wilderness Hotel Saariselkä is one of our chain's top properties, and this is reflected in our housekeeping work as well. Details matter here; public areas and guest accommodations must be spotless, and the guest experience hinges on everything being ready and in its place. As a Shift Supervisor you will lead the housekeeping team day-to-day. You will participate in the daily cleaning tasks, but ensure tasks are divided sensibly and that the day runs smoothly. You will not work alone, as you have the support of the Saariselkä-area housekeeping supervisor. What would your workday look like? Morning – start the day by reviewing the current situation, checking which rooms need cleaning, how to divide the day’s work, and noting any special considerations. All accommodations in Saariselkä are separate cabins, so a good portion of the day is spent outdoors in snowy conditions. Day – you will spend most of your time on housekeeping. Standards are high, and attention to detail is crucial. Tasks may include delivering pre-ordered packages or birthday surprises to rooms, creating towel arrangements, and other small touches to delight guests. You’ll need common sense and initiative; not every situation has a ready-made instruction. You’ll focus on the bigger picture, make appropriate decisions, and ask when in doubt. Throughout the day you’ll help the team stay on track, divide tasks, monitor progress, and adjust plans as needed. You’ll be hands-on with the team, not detached supervision, and you’ll be a approachable support for colleagues to foster a positive working atmosphere. What the job includes: Organising and assigning daily tasks for the housekeeping team; cleaning public areas and separate cabins; ensuring high standards; handling special requests and surprises for guest rooms; guest service and cooperation with other hotel departments as needed; ensuring cleaning supplies and tools are available; supporting and guiding the team; solving practical problems and prioritising tasks as situations change. What we expect from you: Previous experience in housekeeping or hotel cleaning; experience or willingness to take responsibility for leading a team; careful approach to your work and a good eye for detail; initiative and common sense; good communication skills and a positive attitude; ability to work effectively and independently; fluent English; a valid B-class driving licence. Previous experience in high-end hotel housekeeping is considered an advantage. More importantly, we are looking for someone who takes pride in doing things properly and understands how much good housekeeping contributes to the guest experience. What you get from this experience: Working in Lapland is more than just a job. Wilderness Hotel Saariselkä is surrounded by the beautiful landscapes of Saariselkä. After your shift you can swap your work clothes for outdoor gear and head straight into the fell – cross-country ski tracks, snowshoeing routes and other winter activities are all right nearby. The winter offers polar night, northern lights and the sun returning at the end of January. And when you work somewhere where the scenery is part of everyday life, you don't have to go looking for it. We also offer Wilderness Hotels employee benefits and the possibility of staff accommodation. The apartments are clean and fully equipped – in practice, you only need to bring your toothbrush and warm outdoor clothing. During the winter season, accommodation is shared, with two employees per room. Salary and terms: Starting salary: €2,500/month + supplements, final salary depends on experience and qualifications; Employment for the winter season 2026–2027; Working hours according to the work schedule.
