We are seeking two (2) social workers to join a new child protection small-group home, Iida and Eemeli, opening January 2027 in Haarajoki, Järvenpää. The unit will have 7 places and serves 8–17-year-olds. The role involves guiding children in daily life, independent and team-based work, and collaboration with guardians, social workers and the broader network. Responsibilities include supporting daily life and upbringing, cooking, cleaning, laundry with children, developing emotional and interaction skills, supporting schooling and homework, individual guidance work, implementing and evaluating care and upbringing plans, client registries, and cooperation with guardians and professionals. Each child will have a dedicated guide pair; the job requires ability to work independently, in pairs, and within a multi-disciplinary team. We value open communication, shared meals, planning, safety, and a child-centered, planned daily routine under THL framework. We expect compassionate, communicative professionals able to handle challenging, rapidly changing situations. Requirements include social work degree and licensure (sosionomi), at least 1 year of experience from child welfare settings, knowledge of child welfare law, medication administration license or willingness to obtain it at start, valid driver’s license and ability to drive, good Finnish language skills, hygiene passport, and vaccination clearance per infectious disease act. Criminal background check is required for those working with children; this is a non-smoking workplace. The position starts by 4 January 2027. Salary is within the G23D–G25 range plus shift allowances under the private social services collective agreement.
