Lapland Staff is looking for sled dog guides for the winter season 2026– 2027 for Lapland Husky Safaris Levi-Ylläs. Our kennel, located near the town of Muonio, is a middle-sized husky kennel so there is for sure sound and hustle during the winter season! Our kennel is home to a pack of approximately 180 dogs who will be your daily workmates as well as your human colleagues. Our guests arrive mainly from around Europe, in December most of them come from the UK. Husky safari is one of the most anticipated excursions of international guests during their holiday in Lapland! We are looking for brisk, active, and customer service-oriented Sled dog guides to do kennel and guide work. If you are cheerful, flexible, and a multi-talent who is not afraid of physical work, this work could be for you. Furthermore, if you get along well with people and dogs, you can communicate in English fluently, and like to work outside regardless of the weather, then for sure you are the person we are looking for. Your tasks include taking care of the dogs, daily work at the kennel, and guiding safaris. Kennel work includes taking care of the dogs’ well-being, feeding and watering them, socializing the puppies, and daily cleaning of the kennels. Guiding work includes preparation of the safaris and dismantling tasks after the program, customer service at the kennel and in the terrain during the safari, and guiding dog sleds. At our kennel everyone does everything! To fully succeed at this work, you need flexibility towards work hours, pressure tolerance to handle rush and changing situations, and good physical condition. At least a class B driver’s license is required for the job and experience driving a snowmobile is considered an advantage. Our safaris are led by a snowmobile, and our guests drive their dog sleds themselves. In addition, please note that in order to work in Finland, EU-citizenship/passport or valid working permit to Finland is required. Please read more under the job advertisement. We organize first aid training for our employees at the beginning of the season but previously acquired first aid skills are considered an advantage. In addition, previous experience in guide work, outdoor work in winter conditions, regional knowledge, and experience working with dogs are also considered as an advantage. The most important thing is a realistic understanding of the demands of the work, especially its physical nature, but also the rewarding nature of the work. You will receive benefits for example from equipment rental, restaurants and Lapland Ski Resorts’ lift tickets. The employment relationship is a fixed-term seasonal contract by the collective agreement of the Adventure Services Sector. Work will start in November 2026 and last until the end of March 2027. Salary according to the Collective Agreement of Adventure Services grade A-C, hourly wage starting from 11,30 € (gross). Work will be done also during weekends and public holidays. Sundays and Finnish bank holidays are paid double. Accommodation is organized in shared rooms, with reasonable rent in comparison to the local price level. Having your own car is necessary to transfer between accommodation and work. Please note that Lapland Husky Safaris is a non-smoking working place.
