About the role

We are looking for a permanent early childhood education teacher for Maitorpan Daycare, starting 1 September 2026 or by agreement. The day care operates with four groups of children in a calm Maitorpantie area and makes regular forest trips and excursions to nearby playgrounds. The facilities enable strong small-group activity in line with the early childhood education plan. We participate in the ProVaka operating model, which is based on guiding behavior with positive feedback. Adults act as role models for the children and the model supports inclusive early childhood education and develops a culture of interaction that values social skills and uniform guidance practices. We offer a comprehensive onboarding and mentorship possibility. In our unit, two broad-scope special education teachers assist and support you especially in matters related to child support, and work in groups according to their schedules. Our unit’s development specialist provides support for family collaboration. Your colleagues will support you; together we are stronger. We offer a positive and relaxed work environment where work is done with heart and a touch of humor, with professionalism. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to developing our culture and share your expertise with others if you wish. For the teacher’s shift planning, one full Sak-päivä is planned and there is a common Sak-time once a week during the day for all teachers. Our expectations: interest in working positively in a group-based learning environment (ProVaka). Our community embraces multiple languages and cultures, inclusion, listening, positive pedagogy, activity, movement and play. We expect enthusiasm and expertise in pedagogical play and using images to support communication. You will lead and support your own team and work to support the team’s functioning and children’s growth and well-being. A constructive, development-friendly, and solution-oriented approach to teamwork is valued. If you are interested, please apply; interviews start during the application period and a suitable candidate can be hired immediately. Student candidates will be considered. If a suitable applicant is not found, the position may be filled by a temporarily ineligible candidate.
