Documentation Engineer in Kokkolа who combines technical expertise with clear communication. Works as part of a specialist organization delivering documentation to leading machine and equipment manufacturers worldwide. The work is done flexibly both remotely and on-site as needed. Occasional presence at customer or Etteplan facilities in Kokkolа. You will be responsible for producing, maintaining and developing technical documentation related to customers’ products and systems. Ensure documentation is high quality, up-to-date and user-focused. Produce user and maintenance manuals, spare parts catalogs and other content supporting the lifecycle of equipment and systems for diverse audiences. Learn about customers’ products, technical solutions and environments; gather information from designers and other experts and translate it into clear, easily usable documents. Participate in developing documentation practices, estimating workload and timelines for documentation projects and ensuring quality and consistency. Use modern documentation methods and, where possible, AI solutions. You will work independently but closely with customers, designers and our international documentation network. The role requires ability to understand technical entities and turn them into clear, user-oriented content. We expect: relevant technical education, for example engineering or diploma engineering; at least two years’ experience; experience in technical documentation or instruction documentation; excellent Finnish and English written and oral skills; good collaboration and interpersonal skills; proactive and solution-focused approach; ability to assess workload, timelines and cost impacts and work with experts from different design disciplines; systematic and careful work style; smooth use of information systems and ability to learn new software quickly. Nice-to-have: practical experience in machine/vehicle/automation engineering; experience with structured documentation and related tools; XML and DITA knowledge; experience using AI for producing technical content; experience with content management systems, Adobe FrameMaker or similar tools; image processing skills.
