Social Worker or Psychiatric Nurse

A new colleague is sought for our development unit in Kangasala, Pikonlinna Validia House. We are looking for a social worker or a psychiatric nurse to join our multidisciplinary team. The work involves working with clients who require substantial support in daily life and who may present challenging behavioral situations. The role emphasizes professional interaction skills, a calm approach, ability to handle diverse situations, and to build a safe and predictable daily routine for residents. The job mainly involves being present in residents’ everyday life, guiding and supporting them. Your day will consist of guiding clients, promoting well-being, enabling daily activities, and delivering individualized support. The position is primarily a two-shift job, with weekend work included. The staff at Pikonlinnan Validia-talo specialize in caring for people with developmental disabilities and those on the autism spectrum who require substantial support. We value prior experience with developmentally disabled, autism spectrum, or mentally symptomatic clients, but a desire to learn and develop in the role is equally important. The building is located in Kangasala’s lakeside and esker environment; five group homes host 45 client places in a historically art-deco style building, offering versatile opportunities for activities and active daily life.
