Architect

We are seeking an experienced architect for a group leader role in Helsinki. Our architecture department has a history as part of the Finnish construction and cultural heritage: a direct continuation of Rakennushallitus (1811-1995), responsible for maintenance and design of government buildings. Today the department is part of WSP Finland Oy, a multidisciplinary international expert company. We work on large and small, demanding and interesting public and non-public projects, with a strong track record in restoration of valuable buildings and design of new public offices and facilities. The group leader role includes sales and client responsibility, overseeing group bidding activities and workload, responsibility for framework agreements and named clients, project work, leading assignments as project manager or contributing in other roles, ensuring profitability and project monitoring. Supervisory duties include leading a 10–15 person architect group, resource planning, and recruitment in collaboration with the department head. We expect leadership experience, resource management and project resource coordination, ambitious approach to design and architecture, strong ArchiCad skills, qualification as chief/architect, and experience with major building design tasks. You should be able to motivate a specialist team and develop group operations, react quickly, be flexible, and work on challenging projects. Social skills, presence in the office, fluent written and spoken Finnish (English an advantage).
