The eligibility requirement is determined according to Section 28 of the Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018); The eligibility requirement for the position of early childhood education childcare worker is a vocational qualification in education and guidance, a vocational qualification in social and health care, or another equivalent suitable qualification, which includes or has been supplemented by sufficiently extensive qualification units in childcare, education, and teaching. The person selected for the position must provide the employer with a criminal record extract as referred to in Section 6, subsection 2 of the Criminal Records Act (Act on the Verification of the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children 504/2002). A probationary period applies to the employment relationship.
